The Best DPS Duos In Overwatch 2
As a Free to Play game, many new people are starting their adventure in Overwatch 2 . If you're one of them, welcome! A standard match has two teams of five, with one tank, two DPS, and two support. DPS are the ones responsible for killing the other team. Though anyone can cause quite some damage in this Overwatch2 Game Site, these characters are the best suited for the tasks, and it's what your team will expect of you.
With that said, as there will always be two, what good combinations exist? You have plenty of options to choose from: the ones that are so different that they can take care of many problems combined or those whose abilities have great synergy.
5 Reaper And Mei
On the one hand, we have evil in its purest form, Death itself, and on the other hand, we have Reaper . Reaper excels at a close distance but can also take care of snipers with good positioning and flanking, thanks to his teleport. Mei can cause a lot of damage at close range, even hurting multiple people at once and slowing them down, making them perfect targets for the rest of the group. They work very efficiently in an aggressive team and can defeat everyone in close to even mid-range.
Their ultimate abilities are also perfect together. Reaper's ultimate reaches a fairly big area, is fast to execute, and causes extremely high damage. With that said, some characters can block it, he can be killed, and usually, when a Reaper just goes all nonchalant in the middle of the enemies, they know what he's about to do. They won't be able to stop it if they're all frozen, though. Blizzard and Death Blossom can do an easy team kill if executed correctly.
The only true downside of this combo is airborne enemies. Your teammates could help with that, but if there's a Pharah or Echo constantly taking you down, perhaps switching will be better.
4 Torbjorn And Symmetra
A perfect combo for defending areas, though they can also attack if done correctly. You can maintain control of many areas by combining Torb's turret and Symmetra's sentries. They auto-target enemies and can clear a lot of flanking routes by themselves.
The turret can control open areas, helping with the overall fight, while sentries can control smaller areas or flanking routes. If the turret can also overlook flanking routes in its position, the sentries can slow enemies down and get their attention while the turret finishes them off.
All that said, Torbjorn himself is good at both long and close range and can control areas with his ultimate. Symmetra will be better at picking off whoever passes the defenses since she excels at close range, and she can use her ultimate to prevent teammates and turrets/sentries from being destroyed.
3 Cassidy And Genji
It's the assault and the flanker, all in one place. These two characters couldn't be more different, and that's why they work well together. Cassidy is powerful from up close and afar and can cause a lot of damage if you aim properly at people's heads. Not to mention his combat roll (and ultimate, if you're willing to ditch it) gives him fast ammo recovery allowing him to keep firing almost non-stop for a long time.
Genji, on the other hand , is a perfect character to haunt your enemies' dreams, especially if they're playing support. Though he's difficult to master, he is probably the most devastating DPS, with quick mobility, high damage, the ability to deflect projectiles, and a powerful dash that resets every time you kill someone, allowing you to dash over and over among low-health enemies. While Cassidy destroys the frontline with the group, Genji can disrupt them from behind, destroying the enemy team completely.
Alternatively, you can replace the likes of Cassidy with someone such as Soldier 76 , Bastion, or potentially even Sojourn if you need a higher fire rate for things such as barriers. Genji could be replaced by other flankers, such as Tracer or Sombra, who can also control the back lines with high mobility and damage.
2 Tracer And Sombra
This combo might seem odd at first. Usually, the idea is that these duos offer different things, even if they appear similar. Still, these two flankers have similar methods of bothering and killing enemies, being fragile, and targeting low-health targets, such as the support characters. So, why do they combo?
Well, if one is a nuisance, then two are a nightmare. If both of them are constantly flanking the enemies' defenses and poking targets, the enemy team can be annoyed enough to lose their focus while the tank and support bring some pain. You could even have people quitting for this, though that is not ideal (talking from experience).
They also both have powerful ultimate abilities. Though Tracer's ult is fast , it can be avoided. Sombra's ult is harder to avoid and will make the enemy team more susceptible to receiving Tracer's ultimate right after, potentially killing most of them in the process.
1 Widowmaker And Hanzo
Another interesting combo since these characters essentially do the same thing. Normally, a single sniper would be more than enough, but if you and your friend have good aim, you might control the game with them.
The idea here is that, though they're both snipers, both Widowmaker and Hanzo can instantly kill someone (who isn't a tank) in a single hit through a headshot. They can get rid of almost everyone with nothing but good aim, and their abilities can also help them a lot in tight situations. They can even help one another through the see-through-wall abilities they both present. The large cover of Widowmaker's Infra-Sight would pair perfectly with Hanzo's Dragonstrike Ultimate since it can pass through solid surfaces.
You could replace one of them with Ashe here . That will cost the one-hit kill, as her shots don't cause the same amount of damage, but she has the better fire rate among snipers, and her ultimate is quite powerful, too, in case your team is lacking damage.
