To add and modify math equations in WPS Presentation, launch your presentation and go to the slide where you want to place an equation. Select the Insert section located in the main ribbon. Within this tab, find and select the Math Equation option, which is typically represented by a ∑ icon or clearly tagged Equation. This will display a pop-up list with a selection of common mathematical expressions such as ratios, powers, calculus symbols, and Greek letters. You can select any of these ready-made layouts to place them in your slide.

Once an math formula is inserted, you can begin editing it by clicking directly inside the equation box. A new specialized panel labeled Formula Options will emerge in the ribbon area. This tab provides extra features for customizing your equation, including buttons for functions, lower indices, upper indices, sums, Σ symbols, and more. Use the controls here to construct advanced formulas step by step. For example, to form a division, choose the division layout, then input the dividend and divisor in the respective boxes that appear. To insert a radical, select the √ icon and fill in the radicand.

If the preloaded structures do not satisfy your requirements, you can input text within the equation box using keyboard shortcuts. For instance, entering will become a fraction bar, and pressing the caret key will raise the text. WPS Presentation supports many TeX-compatible notations for quicker input, so you can type commands like \beta for β or \sqrtx for √x, and the program will convert them properly.

To modify a pre-existing formula, simply highlight the formula. The Math ribbon will show up again, allowing you to edit components. You can erase elements by highlighting them and pressing the delete key, or you can append symbols by using the tools and templates in the Math ribbon. If you need to adjust the size or alignment of the equation, use the style settings under the Home menu, such as text scale, text hue, and alignment tools.

For more advanced mathematical notation, you can also transfer equations from external programs, such as MS Word, or cloud LaTeX platforms, and embed them into WPS Presentation. The application typically retains the formatting, though you may need to refine layout and symmetry afterward.

It is important to guarantee the math is readable on the slide. Adjust the font size so it is easily readable when viewed remotely, especially during lectures. Don’t overload the slide with too many equations; instead, divide intricate proofs into several slides for better audience comprehension. Consistently check your slide in presentation mode to verify its display under live presentation conditions.

After completing your edits, you can save your presentation as usual. WPS Presentation keeps the formula settings intact, so they will stay adjustable when you reopen the file. Whether you are educating, performing analysis, or presenting technical data, harnessing WPS’s formula features allows you to communicate mathematical concepts clearly and professionally.
